By profession, Dr. Ranjith Abeywickrama is a bio-chemist served for the Sri Lankan tea industry for about 37 years of experience in the quality controls and analytical testing. During his last tenure casted for 30 years as the Head of the Division and Director of Analytical Laboratory, Sri Lanka Tea Board, The Ministry of Plantation Industries.
The research work gained during his Ph. D. (Bio-Chemistry & Pharmaceutical Biology) from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka counted for honorary membership granted by the Royal Society of Chemistry in United Kingdom (MRSC). He crossed the academic carrier qualifying with B. Sc., Pg. Dip (Analytical Chemistry), M. Sc., (Forestry & Environmental Science) to reach his professional pinnacle and secured the life membership at the Organization of Professional Associations (OPA), Sri Lanka.
Dr. Ranjith Abeywickrama is a Chartered biologist (Institute of Biology, Sri Lanka) and Chartered Chemist Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, Sri Lanka).
He is a Certified Technical Assessor for ISO 17025-Testing Laboratories, ISO 17020-Inspection & Risk Base Assessment, ISO 17065-Product Certification, ISO 17034-Certified Reference Materials, ISO 17043-Profeciancy Testing Provider, ISO 22000-Food Safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GHP (Good Hygienic Practices), GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and HACCP (Hazzard Analysis) which recognized by the Sri Lanka Accreditation for Conformity Assessment (SLAB).
Its scope of testing covered for water (well, tube well, bottled-portable & RO), industrial effluents and environmental sampling and testing under the professional guidance using ISO (International Standards Organisation) deployed by competent staff
